Physical activity provides substantial health benefits and prevents a disease for not only adults but also children, seniors, and those with chronic health conditions. Physical inactivity can lead to a higher risk of chronic diseases that are related to lifestyle. On the other hand, regular physical activity reduces the risk of lifestyle-related medical conditions, such as glucose tolerance, high blood pressure, cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Among the two types of physical fitness (health-related, and athletic ability physical fitness), improving health-related fitness is extremely important in one’s health and prevent/treat chronic diseases, especially ones which are related to lifestyle behaviours. Health-related physical fitness improves body composition, movement patterns and flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance and cardiorespiratory fitness.

Exercise and Training Program

A training program must consider one’s needs, goals, and abilities safely and systematically. A low-to-moderate intensity exercise is safe and can be very effective for the general population, as well as sedentary adults. Starting at a high intensity is not optimal for those who have not recently exercised for some time. Instead, one should increase the exercise intensity gradually for better performance and results. The minimum recommendation on moderate physical activity is 30 or more minutes a day on 5 or more days per week.

Good nutrition is important to improve health, performance and body composition. To prevent and treat a chronic disease, a diet plan must meet the following four standards

  • Good nutrition provides nutrient density
  • Good nutrition produces long-term health, body composition and performance results
  • Good nutrition is outcome-based

It’s proved that plant-based diets are associated with lower risk of chronic disease, whereas a diet high in red meat (one serving per day) increases the risk of most health conditions. Substitution of other healthy protein sources for animal meat is associated with a lower mortality risk. Additionally, most supplements do not prevent chronic disease, their use is not justified and they should be avoided.

Self-knowing and the Meaning of Life and Health

Not only fit and free from chronic disease and pain but do you also want to find out if it’s possible to live richly, fully, happily, creatively, freely, passionately, without a single conflict and the destructive drive of competition and ambition?

Wisdom is something that has to be discovered by each one through self-knowing only. And wisdom is not the result of the accumulation of knowledge. Humans have always tried to know themselves and others through people, books, beliefs, experience, expertise and the rest of it, all becomes one’s knowledge and memory over time. This way you will never understand things, such as love, freedom, fear, desire, passion, authority, etc. in life. And when life that is not free from fear is not life at all. There won’t be a healthy, fit mind and body.

It’s only self-knowing that breaks down all one’s conditioning. The conditioning full of fear, jealousy, becoming, competition, isolation, worshipping, looking for love and pleasure, appreciation, motivation, honour, position, etc. And one who is looking for these things doesn’t live freely, joyfully, and compassionately. Indeed, such a human always lives in psychological pain and suffering. So, to live healthy, fit, and energetic, self-knowing is the most essential thing in life. By a great deal of work inwardly, a great deal of watching everlastingly, and without condemnation, such as like or dislike, good or bad, a human begins to know himself.
